How We Give Back

Giving back

At ChelseaMarket.ca, love giving back. We serve and support our local community because we understand the importance of ?Giving Back?. We know that we have been blessed with God?s abundance in so many ways. We feel that it is, therefore, incumbent upon us to share our time, our financial resources, our knowledge, our expertise and our passion for the natural products industry with those who are less fortunate than we. Our business is intimately tied to the neighborhood and to the larger community that we serve and in which we live. ?Giving Back? to our community is extremely important to us.

Throughout the year, we encourage our team to volunteer for and become involved with local non-profits events and other outreach programs within our community. We encourage them to work together and to create new ways to support the ChelseaMarket.ca mission of helping people to lead healthier lives. They agree that one of the best ways that they can do to achieve this lofty goal is to participate in a variety of health-promoting events. We also encourage them to support local walks and runs and to participate in a wide range of activities and events that promote overall health and well-being. (It?s literally a case of ?You gotta walk the walk so you can talk the talk!?)

Our Local Food Bank

Thankfully, there is no one in the ChelseaMarket.ca family who goes to bed hungry at night. We are all very fortunate in this regard. However, we know that there are growing numbers of people who simply do not have enough to eat on a daily basis and must visit a local food bank just to survive. We work closely with one of the local food banks to share with them some of the foods that we have available.

The Belmont Village Bestival

Belmont Village Bestival

The Belmont Village Bestival is a wonderful local event that celebrates music of all genres, fine food and the arts generally. ChelseaMarket.ca is proud to be an original sponsor of this annual event that extols the many incredible aspects of our local culture. The funds raised from this event go to many musical, artistic and other cultural organizations in the Waterloo Region.

Helping Local Micro Businesses Get Started

We all need mentors to guide us in our careers specifically and in our lives generally. As a result of our literally decades of being in the natural products industry, we have learned a lot about ?how things work?. Just as we sought out and received invaluable advice from many incredibly generous people over the years, we feel compelled to ?pay it forward?. We regularly provide informal free counseling and advice to aspiring entrepreneurs who come to us in the early stages of their business development. From product packaging and ingredient selection to pricing, distribution and marketing & sales strategies, we are always happy to share what over 30 years in our industry has taught us. Whenever possible, we carry them in our store and promote them as the amazing new local products that they are.

Local Craft Fairs & Artisans

We believe that art and music are critical to our culture and our society?s general health and well-being. As such, we actively encourage local artisans to promote their all-natural wares in the many local craft fairs and pop-up markets nearby. We believe that it helps to build their fledgling businesses and to add to the cultural mosaic of our community.
